Our story started with a Hinge match and a little hiccup—Mitch accidentally texted the wrong number before our first date (and got ghosted… oop). But he didn’t give up! He hopped back on the app, checked if I was still interested—and luckily, I was.

Mitch was actually my first ever Hinge date, and from the start he stood out. Sweet, thoughtful, and chatty, he asked about my new job and bonded with me over our shared love of Game of Thrones, Marvel, and light-hearted banter. Even after the accidental ghosting, he made it happen—and thank goodness he did.

Our first date at Ballast Point Brewery was the best I’d ever been on. We talked like old friends, stayed until closing, and before the night ended, Mitch walked me to my car, kissed me goodnight, and secured a second date for the very next day. We ended up spending six more hours in Pacific Beach and haven’t stopped choosing each other since.

I fell in love with Mitch because he makes me smile every single day and brings out a childlike joy in me that I didn’t even know I was missing. Mitch says he fell in love with my giddy, lovable personality and the way I light up a room. (His words, not mine—but I’ll take it.)

Fast forward to June 18, 2024, on the Isle of Skye in Scotland—one of the most romantic places in the world (a fact I may have mentioned a few times over the years). On a rainy, misty hike up to the Old Man of Storr, Mitch proposed. Despite the overcast weather, he knew how much the place meant to me and was determined to make it special. And he did. Right there on the hillside, with the iconic rock formation behind us and raindrops falling all around, he dropped to one knee and pulled out the most perfect ring. My immediate response? "Noooo... yes!!" (Very on-brand.)

We sat there in the rain for what felt like forever, just soaking it all in—literally and figuratively. It was pure magic.

Later, I found out Mitch chose that spot because it was wild, beautiful, and timeless—a place we could return to one day with our future family. That thoughtfulness made an already perfect moment even more unforgettable.

That proposal sparked the vision for our wedding: something romantic, moody, and full of magic—like a love story unfolding in a secret garden. We can’t wait to celebrate that next chapter with all of you.
